Prompt: Today, you had the opportunity to express yourself through poetry. Reflect on your creative writing process. What did you find most enjoyable or challenging about turning your thoughts into a poem? Did this assignment change the way you think about poetry or creative writing? Explain your experience.

Prompt Response:

I found coming up with my topic the most enjoyable part. There’s so many different things you can write about. The most difficult part was trying to find rhymes that made sense. I’m not the best with creative writing so I somewhat found the entire poem to be difficult to write. I’m good at coming up with ideas, but not executing them. This assignment made me realize how much effort poets put into their work. I don’t believe I could ever make a poem as good as some of the most notable writers.

Summary: Today in class, we wrote our own poem.

Reflection: I found class to be a bit difficult because I’m not good at writing poetry.
